I hope my title caught someone's attention.
See I've been really thinking about what type of items I should have in case Corpus Christi is ever in the track of a hurricane. Three years ago we had a near-miss, turned out to be nothing more then a few small tornados. What I remember most is sitting in my living room, complaining about the heat & just waiting for the power to come back on. If a storm ever does hit I want to be ready. Yes I've seen several news channels list items that I should have..but Id like to hear from someone that actually had to go without power & running water for at least 3 days. I know all about the canned goods, the water per person, etc. This weekend we are buying a propane stove - something we can use in case of power outage or on the boat some day. I've considered buying a generator, but I'm not sure what it would run. With a generator comes fuel, that's a given. The question is - If you had to go back and do it all over again..what would you NOT forget to have on hand. Let me add that I am land locked - so I know the pirates out there have a million other issues besides power & water when a hurricane is striking.
Thanks!!! Jen | |

Well Jen,
Your title DID catch my attention. Not sure what happened with the OP? I edited your post, it had weird HTML code causing it to run past the right margin.
Congrat's on the propane stove! Keep doing things to make you and your family self-sufficient. Generator fuel is definitely an issue to consider.
And please post again soon..

A few solar panels and a wind generator could probably get you all the power you need for a week or two. Kind of like a boat . . .
