Pirate Lifestyle TV ™ Quickie 025
Delivering Happiness, A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose, by Tony Hsieh.
This book is an enjoyable read. It's a lifestyle instruction manual.
This book is a look into the life of Tony, from his childhood starting a worm farm and button businesses, through his college years and creating a virtual study group and a pizza business, through his short 5 month venture in corporate America working for Oracle, and starting LinkExchange, and finally the growth of Zappos.
In Tony's own words, "The purpose of this book is to give some of the highlights of the path that I took in my journey toward discovering how to find happiness in business and in life."
If you are an entrepreneur, if you want to work for yourself, if you like a great story, you really need to read this book. There are many nuggets of information like, "I was passionate about proving everyone wrong." Arrr.
Tony shares how throughout his life he was making lots of mistakes and he still succeeded, or better said, succeeding because of making so many mistakes.
The last chapter really nailed it for me. We all chose different paths, but we all pursue the same goal, happiness. Aye, livin' the pirate lifestyle be about bein' happy.
Please read this book.
