Pirate Lifestyle TV ™ Quickie 010
This quickie is about focusing on what is important. It's not about the bike!
An all too common excuse I hear is, "if only I had a better whatever."
I could play better golf if I had better clubs.
I could make better videos if I had a better camera.
If I had a better job.
If I had better clothes.
If I had a better car.
If I had a better whatever!
I am sure you can think of plenty of examples of whatever's people around you use.
Do what must be done as if your life depends on you getting it done, because it does...
Thank you.

Pirate Lifestyle TV ™ Quickie 009
This quickie is about slowing down and enjoying the journey.
Life is a journey. To sail the seven seas of freedom and live a successful pirate lifestyle you must slow down and enjoy.
Several friends of mine and friends of friends are enjoying the journey this summer. My friend, Pat O'Bryan, traveled the west end of RT66 and right now is on the west coast. A friend of Marshall Wayne is sharing his story of drifting down the Mississippi river.
One of my fondest childhood memories is our summer road trips to visit the relatives in Wisconsin. We piled in to my grandfather's Ford station wagon and headed northwest. My grandfather ALWAYS stopped at the same A&W drive-in restaurant. You know, you sit in the car and the waitress brings out rootbeers, in frosty mugs, on a tray she hangs on the driver's door.

Ahoy me hearty,
Pirate Lifestyle TV Quickie 007, Positive Attitude, Guideline #2.
I use a glass of beer as a metaphor (analogy) to maintaining a positive attitude. Do you see the glass of beer as half-empty or half-full? Hmmmmm.

I wanted to shoot this outside, change of scenery, not the inside of Bella Rose. Pretty darn good image and sound for an inexpensive flip-cam. Arrr.

I will be sharing more Guidelines in Pirate Lifestyle TV quickies. This Quickie, 005, was long because I explain the project, what the Pirate Lifestyle Guidelines are, future Quickies will be much shorter. Really! Arrr.

Ahoy Matey!
The brand new Episode 019 of Pirate Lifestyle TV. I use President Barack Obama and the BP oil spill as a metaphor (analogy) for YOU making decision in your life.
"In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the RIGHT thing, the next best thing is the WRONG thing, and the worst thing is NOTHING." T. Roosevelt

Ahoy me hearties,
There have been, actually currently are, all kinds of discussions about whether it was a good idea for a 16 year old girl, Abby Sunderland, to attempt to solo nonstop circumnavigate the globe. So I will add my thoughts to the too-long list.

You know, "Monday morning quarterbacking" is so easy...
First and foremost, I like to think we are free to do what ever we want. So I don't think it is anybody's business what Abby does. It is between her and her family. The people that tried, or are trying, to get her parents in trouble by crying “child abuse” are crazy. No, Abby's parents should not be put in jail. Geesh.
Now as to the fact she is in trouble and needs to be rescued. Yes, I think the family should be responsible for the costs. They where warned not to travel this time of year. Experts warned of traveling in the Indian Ocean in the Southern Hemisphere this time of year. Because she had to stop for repairs, technically, she would not be completing her original plan to solo nonstop circumnavigate the globe. But Abby continued on anyway, so I think it reasonable they should pay the rescue expenses.

My personal opinion, for what my 2 cents are worth. Based on what I have read, her family being lifelong sailors, her brother Zac sailing the globe last year. I can’t help but wonder, is this “TRULY" Abby's dream? But again, it isn't really any of my business or any of your business or any of anyone else’s business.
As of this moment, she is ok, but her boat is too damaged to continue. The mast appears to be completely gone. Last I heard, she has been rescued by a French fishing vessel and her boat will most likely be intentionally sunk. It is too great a distance in dangerous waters to tow the boat.
I could go on and on, but I think I will stop now…
